Binsky & Snyder Service has helped CNBC become first in business news worldwide. We allow them to focus on what they do best, by doing one of the services we do best at their facility – plant operations.
A crew of seven engineers guarantees the 350,000-square-foot office, data and broadcast headquarters in Englewood Cliffs is in premium operating condition, 24/7. They manage and steward the CNBC facility in every way, from maintenance and safety inspections to managing air control and equipment repairs.
The highly trained crew oversees HVAC operation of their 1,500-ton chilled water plant consisting of three York Millennium chilled water makers with a redundant fourth chilled water maker. The chillers are supported by primary, secondary, and chilled water pumps, as well as a four-cell cooling tower and two plate and frame heat exchangers. Chilled water is distributed throughout the facility to terminal conditioning units. There are approximately 12 FLUs, 18 Buffalo air handling units, 7 Mammoth Studio air handling units and more than 40 Liebert System 3 Critical Air Conditioners.
Binsky engineers also assist the CNBC headquarters staff with:
- Ductwork/VAV modifications
- HVAC air balancing
- BMS control programming
- Door lock and key fabrication
- Repairs to millwork, shelving, desks and cabinets
- Fabrication of specialty items and solutions to assist on-air operations
- Fire safety: Coordination of internal fire suppression inspections, outside vendors as well as annual testing and maintenance
- Safety: Perform internal monthly elevator recall inspections and chemical inventories
Our chief engineer, John, has been on-site for more than six years and has developed a solid understanding of CNBC’s facility needs, maintenance requirements and occupants’ expectations.
