Plant Operations:
College of St. Elizabeth
and Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth

Possessing approximately 1 million square feet of building space spread across a 246-acre campus, the College of Saint Elizabeth and the Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth provides Binsky & Snyder Service an opportunity to be stewards of an incredible campus.

The chief engineer and five operating engineers ensure the safe operation of all community buildings by responding to trouble calls, operating a variety of systems and performing regularly scheduled preventative and corrective maintenance.

Their work involves mechanical service and maintenance of electrical, mechanical and HVAC apparatus and the overseeing of other utilities such as water, sewer and natural gas. They are responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all boilers, pumps, hot water heaters, as well as the HVAC energy management and building management system software.

Records of such maintenance are logged and tracked on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. Administrators at Saint Elizabeth are kept well-informed on the condition of the physical plant with a detailed monthly report. These reports provide descriptions of work completed, as well as a priority list of any projects to be considered.

The Saint Elizabeth campus has a deep sense of community, anchored in part by the character of their buildings and all they offer – from Olympic-sized swimming pools to drama studios.  Behind the scenes, Binsky Service keeps the 23 buildings running seamlessly. The plant operation crew helps to create a peaceful learning and living environment for Saint Elizabeth students, staff, faculty, visitors and sisters.
